Master Sergeant Davis studied Music Education at the University of Oklahoma. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in January of 2000 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California where he graduated as the Company Honor Man and was meritoriously promoted to Lance Corporal. He subsequently reported to the Armed Forces School of Music, Norfolk, Virginia where he completed the Basic Music Course.
He reported to his first duty station, the Parris Island Marine Band, Parris Island, South Carolina in January 2001, where he served as a euphonium instrumentalist, supply non-commissioned officer in charge, and squad leader. In October of 2004, he was assigned to the Quantico Marine Corps Band, Quantico, Virginia where he served as vocalist, euphonium section leader, and platoon sergeant.
In June of 2007, he volunteered for assignment to the National Capital Region Task Force and served as platoon sergeant for 3d Platoon in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in the Diyala and Al-Anbar provinces of Iraq.
He reported to Marine Forces Pacific Band, Kaneohe, Hawaii in September of 2008, where he served as the Enlisted Conductor and the Education Officer. During his tour, he traveled to Mongolia, Cambodia, American Samoa, Korea, Guam, and Iwo Jima in support of musical missions throughout the Pacific theater.
In August of 2010, he returned to the Naval School of Music to attend the Unit Leaders Course and was promoted to Gunnery Sergeant in October 2010. Upon graduation, he was reassigned as the Marine Detachment’s platoon sergeant until receiving orders to Parris Island Marine Band, Parris Island, SC in November 2011 as the Enlisted Conductor. During this period, he attended the Staff Non-Commissioned Officer Career Course in Quantico, Virginia and graduated as a distinguished graduate.
In November 2017, he was assigned to the 2d Marine Division Band, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina where he served as the Enlisted Conductor. During his tour, he traveled to Nova Scotia, Halifax in support of the Nova Scotia International Tattoo, and the French cities of Soissons, Chateau Thierry, Reims, and Belleau in support of the 100th Anniversary of the Battle of Belleau Wood.
In February 2018, he was promoted to Master Sergeant and was transferred to the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing Band, Cherry Point, North Carolina in July 2018 to serve as the Bandmaster.
Master Sergeant Davis’ personal awards include: Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with a gold star in lieu of second award, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
