Staff Sergeant Taylor S. Massey

Staff Sergeant Taylor S. Massey enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2013 and attended Recruit Training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, SC. After graduation from the Basic Musician Course at the Naval School of Music in Virginia Beach, VA, SSgt Massey reported to the 3d Marine Aircraft Wing Band, San Diego, CA.  There he served as a Trumpet Instrumentalist, Trumpet Section Leader, Public Affairs Chief, Sound Reinforcement Chief, Assistant Enlisted Conductor, and Acting Enlisted Conductor.

In January of 2018, SSgt Massey again reported to the Naval School of Music as a student in the Unit Leader Course and Sound Reinforcement Course. Upon graduation, SSgt Massey reported for duty with the 2d Marine Division Band aboard Camp Lejeune, NC.  At the 2d Marine Division, SSgt Massey served as Trumpet Section Leader, Public Affairs Chief, Sound Reinforcement Chief, Assistant Enlisted Conductor, and Small Ensemble Leader.

SSgt Massey’s current assignment began in June of 2020, where he reported for duty as the Enlisted Conductor of the 2d Marine Aircraft Wing Band, Cherry Point, NC.

SSgt Massey’s military decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2nd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), National Defense Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Medal.
