Lieutenant Colonel Jon Stiebner was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 2004. After graduating from The Basic School, he completed the Aviation Supply Basic Qualification Course and was designated an Aviation Supply Officer in 2005.
Lieutenant Colonel Stiebner's company grade assignments as an Aviation Supply Officer included billets as the Supply Response Division Officer and the Repairables Management Division Officer at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron - 13. In July 2006, he served as the Supply Response Division Officer for Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron -16 FWD during Operation Iraqi Freedom. In May 2008, he reported to Recruiting Station Saint Louis where he served as Officer Selection Officer Saint Louis until June 2011.
He attended Expeditionary Warfare School and upon graduation in May 2012 received orders to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron - 11 at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar to serve as the Aviation Supply Officer. He was promoted to the rank of Major in September 2014 and served as the Assistant Operations Officer until June 2015.
He attended Army Command and General Staff College, where he graduated with distinction in June 2016. In July 2016 he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron - 36 where he served as the Operations Officer. In May 2017, he reported to Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron - 1 and served as the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing Staff Secretary.
He returned to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron - 36 in June 2018 and served as the Executive Officer until executing orders in May 2019 to the Pentagon and Headquarters Marine Corps. While serving at the Pentagon in the Department of Aviation, Aviation Sustainment Branch, HQMC, Lieutenant Colonel Stiebner served as the Assistant Aviation Supply Officer and the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Supply Chain Manager and Assistant Logistics Lead.
After completing a successful tour at the Pentagon, Lieutenant Colonel Stiebner transitioned to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island to serve as the Headquarters and Service Battalion Executive Officer. After one year, he transitioned to serve as the Command Inspector General for Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island / Eastern Recruiting Region.
In June of 2024, Lieutenant Colonel Stiebner assumed his current position as the Commanding Officer of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31.
Lieutenant Colonel Stiebner is a graduate of The Basic School, Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School, Army Command and General Staff College, the Marine Corps Command and Staff College Distance Education Program, and the Stop-Gap Red Team Leaders Course at the University of Foreign Military and Cultural Studies: Center for Applied Critical Thinking. Additionally, he holds a BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana - Champaign.
Lieutenant Colonel Stiebner's personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Gold Star.
