Major Green is a native of South Carolina and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps upon graduation from the United States naval Academy in May of 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. He reported to The Basic School in Quantico, VA in July of 2010 where he completed the Basic Officer Course. Upon completion of the Basic Officer Course, Major Green reported to the Center for Advanced Operational Cultural Learning for Russian Language training before reporting to NAS Pensacola, FL for flight training. Major Green was designated a Naval Aviator in May of 2013 and reported to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303 (HMLAT-303) in May 2013 for follow on training as a UH-1Y helicopter pilot.
Major Green was assigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter 467 (HMLA-467) in September 2013 where he served as a schedule writer and Current Operations Officer and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM (OEF) from May to August 2014. He then served as the Ground Safety Officer (GSO) with HMLA-467 until the Squadron was deactivated in June of 2016.
In June 2016 Maj Green was reassigned to Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 167 (HMLA-167) and assumed the duties of Legal Officer and Victim and Witness Assistance Program (VWAP) Coordinator. Major Green also served as the Current Operations Officer and upon Graduating from Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 1-18 (WTI 1-18) as a UH-1Y WTI in September 2017, served as the Squadron Pilot Training Officer and Future Operations Officer.
In February 2019, Major Green was assigned as the Air/Fires and Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) Officer for Marine Special Operations Company (MSOC) Lima and deployed in support of Special Operations Task Force – East Africa (SOTF-EA) to East Africa. Following return from East Africa, Maj Green continued to serve as the Air/Fires and OIE Officer for MSOC Lima as well as the Company Executive Officer. Prior to departing MSOC Lima, Major Green attended and graduated from Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course 2-21 (WTI 2-21) as an Air Officer WTI.
In July of 2021, Major Green was assigned to the Air Officer Department and future TACP Department as a Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) Instructor and WTI for Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One (MAWTS-1). In June of 2023, Major Green assumed the responsibilities of the MAWTS-1 TACP Department Head.
In June of 2024, Major Green assumed his current duty assignment as Executive Officer for Marine Light Attack Helicopter Squadron 269 (HMLA-269).
Maj Green’s personal decorations include the Air Medal – Strike Flight Numeral 1, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star.
