Col. Todd Ferry salutes Sgt. Maj. Benjamin Pangborn during the annual Historic Uniform Pageant aboard Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Nov. 4, 2016. The pageant is held annually to honor the Marine Corps’ birthday, and features Marines wearing uniforms from all major conflicts the Marine Corps has fought in. The pageant also included a traditional cake-cutting ceremony, where the first slice of cake is given to the oldest Marine present and passed to the youngest Marine to symbolize the experience and youthful spirit that are hallmarks of the Marine Corps.
