MAG-26 Executive Officer
Lieutenant Colonel Charles D. Jordan

Lieutenant Colonel Jordan is a native of Nashville, TN. He graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Political Science in December 2006.

As an enlisted Marine, he reported to MCRD Parris Island, SC in May 2003. Upon graduation of Recruit Training, he reported to his reserve unit, L Company, 3/23, as a basic trained Marine in order to attend college. He attended PLC Juniors in the summer of 2004 and PLC Seniors in 2006. He was commissioned in December 2006.

As a company grade officer, he attended The Basic School with D Company in 2006. After TBD he reported to Pensacola, FL to begin flight training. He attended Primary with VT-28 in Corpus Christi, TX, Advanced with HT-18 in Milton, FL, and Fleet Replacement Squadron training with HMMT-164 at Camp Pendleton, CA. After training, he was assigned as to HMM-364 Purple Foxes from 2010-2013 as a Schedule Writer, Adjutant, Admin Officer, Legal Officer, Readiness Officer, and Flight Planning Systems Officer.

During this time he was designated as Helicopter Aircraft Commander and Section Lead. He also deployed to the CENTCOM AOR with the 15th MEU aboard USS PELILU (LHA-5) from 2012-2013. After this deployment he was selected for conversion training to become an MV-22B Osprey pilot. After completing training with VMMT-204 at MCAS New River, NC he was assigned to VMM-163 Evil Eyes at Miramar, CA. From 2013-2017, he deployed to the CENTCOM AOR twice with the 11th MEU aboard USS MAKIN ISLAND. He served as the FOPS Planner, Logistics Officer, and Pilot Training Officer while achieving designations as Tiltrotor Aircraft Commander, Section Lead, Division Lead, Flight Lead, Low Altitude Tactics Instructor, Night Systems Instructor, Weapons and Tactics Instructor, Flight Lead and Standardization Evaluator, and Air Mission Commander.

As a field grade officer, he was assigned to VMM-774 as the Pilot Training Officer, Assistant Operations Officer, and Operations Officer from 2017-2020. While there, he achieved designations as Functional Check Pilot, Assistant NATOPS Instructor, and Instrument Evaluator. As the Operations Officer, he activated, mobilized, and deployed the reserve squadron in support of the active force during the SPMAGTF-CR-AF 20.1 deployment from September 2019 - June 2020 (extended due to the COVID-19 related travel restrictions). In June 2019 he completed Command and Staff non-resident PME, and earned his Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Oklahoma University Distance Learning Education Program. In August 2020, he was assigned as the Executive Officer of VMM-165 White Knights where he deployed to the CENTCOM AOR with the 11th MEU aboard USS ESSEX from August 2021-Febrauary 2022. From July 2022 - July 2023, he served as the Air Officer for Task Force 76/3 during the Campaign of Learning and Experimentation to further naval integration in support of INDOPACIFIC maritime operations between SEVENTH Fleet and III MEF by combining the commands of Expeditionary Strike Group Seven with 3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade. In August 2022, he was slated to command VMM-162.

LtCol Jordan’s civilian and military education include: Expeditionary Warfare School College of Distance Education and Training, Marine Corps Command and Staff non-resident Seminar Program, MS in Organizational Leadership from Oklahoma University Learning Education Program.

LtCol Jordan’s personal awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation with Gold Star, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
