HMHT-302 Executive Officer
Major Brian A. Toczek

Major Toczek is a native of Indiana. After graduation high school in 2007, he studied history at Indiana University, graduating in 2011. While at Indiana University, Major Toczek completed Platoon Leaders Course, and commissioned in May 2012. His active-duty service began May 2013, when he checked into The Basic School in Quantico, Virginia. Upon completing The Basic School, Major Toczek reported to Marine Air Training Support Group 29 in Pensacola, Florida for Aviation Preflight Indoctrination. He completed Primary flight training at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi before returning to Pensacola, Florida for Advanced Helicopter Training.

After earning his wings, Major Toczek selected the CH-53E Super Stallion and reported to Marine Heavy Helicopter Training Squadron 302 for Replacement Aircrew Training. He graduated in May of 2016 and received orders to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 at Marine Corps Air Station New River.

Major Toczek extended his orders at Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464 in order to serve with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit. In September of 2020, Major Toczek joined Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 162 as part of the Aviation Combat Element. Aboard the USS Iwo Jima, Major Toczek served as Quality Assurance Division Officer, Assistant Maintenance Officer, Aviation Safety Officer, and Maintenance Admin Division Officer. The Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted Joint Exercises in England and Norway, and conducted training in Spain, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait. Prior to returning to the United States, the Aviation Combat Element inserted the Ground and Logistics Combat Elements into Kuwait in order to assist with the evacuation of Afghanistan.

Upon completion of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Major Toczek received orders to HMHT-302 to serve as an instructor pilot aboard MCAS New River.  Major Toczek was promoted to his current rank on 1 June 2022.  During this tour he held the billet of Operations Officer.  In April 2023, he assumed the role of HMHT-302 Executive Officer.

Major Toczek has a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and his personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and various service medals.
