Sergeant Major Lawrence S. Hudson

Sergeant Major Hudson enlisted in the Marine Corps in November 2000 and completed recruit training at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, California. After graduating from recruit training, he attended Marine Combat Training at the School of Infantry- West. Soon after, he transferred to Camp Johnson, North Carolina, where he achieved the Military Occupation Skills as a Supply Administration and Operation Specialist, 3043.

In May 2001, Sergeant Major Hudson reported to Headquarters and Service Company, Headquarters and Support Battalion, School of Infantry - East, in Jacksonville, North Carolina. As a Supply Specialist, he held billets in all functional supply areas, including Substance, Personal Effects, and Warehousing. Furthermore, he was responsible for executing the command’s finances and managing the budget for the School of Infantry.

In May 2005, Sergeant Major Hudson was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and reassigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 171, Marine Wing Support Group 17, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, Iwakuni, Japan. As the Fiscal and Supply Section Administrative Chief, he managed the Squadron’s fiscal budget by purchasing and reconciling the operating budgets for numerous exercises.

In June 2007, Sergeant Major Hudson received orders to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, to become a Marine Corps Drill Instructor. Immediately after completing Drill Instructor school, Sergeant Major Hudson obtained orders to Bravo Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, where he was promoted to Staff Sergeant and completed his tour of duty.

In October 2010, Sergeant Major Hudson was ordered to Headquarter Service Company, 2D Battalion 6th Marines, 2d Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He served in the billet as the Battalion Supply Chief and deployed to Afghanistan to support Operation Enduring Freedom 12-1. During his assigned duty station, he was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and received PCS orders to the 8th Marine Corps District.

In July 2013, Sergeant Major Hudson reported to the 8th Marine Corps District Headquarters, Fort Worth, Texas, where he served in the billets as the District Supply Chief, HQ Gunnery Sergeant, and Equal Opportunity Representative. There he was promoted to the rank of First Sergeant received orders to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, 2d Marine Logistical Group, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

In June 2016, Sergeant Major Hudson reported to Combat Logistics Battalion 2, Combat Logistics Regiment 2, 2d Marine Logistics Group, where he served as the Company First Sergeant for Headquarters and Service Company and Engineer Service Company. Additionally, he deployed as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for the Logistical Command Element, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force, Crisis Response, Europe-Africa, 18.2

In May 2019, Sergeant Major Hudson received orders to Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools, Camp Johnson, North Carolina. As the Senior Enlisted Advisor to Commanders, he assumed his duties as a School First Sergeant for Ground Supply School and the Logistics Operations School, respectively.

In July 2021, Sergeant Major Hudson transferred to Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron 224, Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina.

Sergeant Major Hudson’s awards include the Meritorious Service Award, Navy Commendation Medal with one gold star, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
