MALS-26 Command Senior Enlisted Leader
Sergeant Major Matthew G. Fraley

Sergeant Major Fraley is a native to Ypsilanti, MI.  He enlisted in October 2003 and attended recruit training at Marine Corps Recruiting Depot Parris Island, South Carolina.  After graduating the School of Infantry at Camp Geiger, NC in 2004, meritoriously promoted Private First Class Fraley and reported to Aviation Structural Mechanic School in Pensacola, FL.  Graduating at the top of his class, he was meritoriously promoted again and reported to MCAS New River for V-22 Airframes Course.  Lance Corporal Fraley then reported to his first PDS, VMMT-204 in September of 2004.

In April 2005, Corporal Fraley was assigned to Phase Crew where he served as the Collateral Duty Inspector (CDI) and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC).  On November 2nd, 2005, Corporal Fraley was meritoriously promoted to sergeant.  In October of 2006, Sergeant Fraley reported to VMM-162 where he continued to serve as an airframes CDI and as the hazardous material NCOIC.   In 2007, Sergeant Fraley completed Combat Marksmanship Coaches Course and earned the qualification of Collateral Duty Quality Assurance Representative (CDQAR).  

In March 2008, Sergeant Fraley deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and served as an airframe CDQAR, hazardous material NCOIC and MV-22 Aerial Observer.  Shortly after deployment, he reported to the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) at MCAS New River in January 2009 as an MV-22 airframes instructor.  

Sergeant Fraley was promoted to staff sergeant in February 2009. While at CNATT, Staff Sergeant Fraley earned numerous qualifications and recognitions such as Instructor Evaluator, Master Training Specialist and Instructor of the Year.  

In August 2011, Staff Sergeant Fraley was assigned to VMM-261 where he served as the Airframes Division Chief.  While at VMM-261 he deployed with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit throughout 2012.  In October 2013, Staff Sergeant Fraley moved to the Quality Assurance Division and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in February 2014.  

During March 2015, Staff Sergeant Fraley received orders as a Faculty Advisor to the Staff Noncommissioned Officers Academy, Camp Lejeune, NC. During his time at the academy, now Gunnery Sergeant Fraley, served in the billets of Sergeants School and Advanced School Instructor.

In April 2018, Gunnery Sergeant Fraley reported to VMM-263 and deployed in support of the SPMAGTF CR-AF 18.2 as the Maintenance Control SNCOIC. After returning from deployment, Gunnery Sergeant Fraley was selected to first sergeant and received orders to V23. He checked into Echo Company, 2/3, 3d MarDiv in March 2019 and in September, he was promoted and then deployed to the INDOPACIFIC AOR in support of FMF - Japan.  In April 2021, First Sergeant Fraley reported to Combat Logistics Company B, Combat Logistics Battalion 3, where he served as a Company 1stSgt until May 2022.

In June 2022, he reported to Ground Supply School, Camp Johnson, NC.  He severed as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Ground Supply School, Marine Corps Combat Service Support Schools located on Camp Johnson, NC.

In April 2024, he was promoted and transferred to MALS-26 on MCAS New River, NC, where he is currently serving as the squadrons SgtMaj.

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal (numeral 2), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3rd award), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6th award), Outstanding Military Volunteer Service Medal and Combat Aircrew Wings with 3 silver stars.
