Major Matthew Weber is a native of South Korea. He moved to the United States in 1993. He attended the University of Pennsylvania through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps and received his commission in May 2015.
Upon completion of The Basic School and the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Indoctrination Course in 2016, he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 31 (MALS-31) at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort, South Carolina. In June 2016, Second Lieutenant Weber was assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron 251 (VMFA-251) where he served as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer and Material Control Officer. First Lieutenant Weber deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program to MCAS Iwakuni, Japan.
Upon completion of his tour at VMFA-251, First Lieutenant Weber reported to Recruiting Station (RS) Phoenix, 8th Marine Corps District in May 2019 where he was promoted to Captain in August 2019. Captain Weber served as the Operations Officer and Executive Officer at RS Phoenix. At the end of this tour, Captain Weber received the additional MOS of 4802, Recruiting Officer, Operational Expert.
In May 2022, Captain Weber reported to MALS-26 as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer at MCAS New River, North Carolina. In June 2023, Captain Weber reported to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer, returning to MALS-26 in October 2023, and subsequently assuming the duties of Aircraft Maintenance Officer in January 2024. In June 2024, Major Weber assumed his current role as the MALS-26 Executive Officer.
Major Weber’s personal awards include (2) Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.
