A native of Chandler, AZ, Maj Brittany R. Fayos commissioned as a 2ndLt in the United States Marine Corps in June 2010.
She completed The Basic School in December 2010 and shortly after began courses to learn Portuguese through the Defense Language Institute. 2ndLt Fayos later reported to Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL for Aviation Preflight Indoctrination (API). In 2012 she completed Primary training at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi, TX, and eventually earned her wings after completing Advanced Rotary Wing training at Naval Air Station Whiting Field, FL in 2013. Out of flight school, 1stLt Fayos was selected for CH-53E's and reported to HMHT-302 at Marine Corps Air Station New River, NC for her initial training on her assigned platform.
1stLt Fayos reported to HMH-465 in June of 2014. She deployed with her squadron as part of the Unit Deployment Program to Okinawa, Japan later that same year and then again in 2016. While serving with HMH-465, Capt Fayos served as Ground Safety Officer, Future Operations Officer, and Airframes Officer in Charge.
In 2018, Capt Fayos was moved to Camp Foster in Okinawa, Japan to serve within the G-3 staff for 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. As part of G-3, Capt Fayos assisted in the planning and execution of numerous deployments and exercises for all of 1st MAW, spanning across the entire Pacific.
From 2020 to 2024, Maj Fayos was assigned to Fleet Readiness Center East where she served as the senior Functional Check Flight pilot for the H-53 line. Aside from flying, Maj Fayos also served as the Deputy Operations Officer, responsible for tracking, scheduling, and mitigating operational risk for aircraft coming out of the depot.
In June 2024, Maj Fayos joined MWSS-271 and assumed the role of Executive Officer.
Maj Fayos' personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with gold Star in lieu of second award.
