Major Jeremy C Murray is a native of Kansas and enlisted in the Marine Corps Sept 18, 2000. He attended boot camp in San Diego, CA followed by Marine Combat Training (MCT) in Camp Pendleton. Upon completion of MCT, he reported to Pensacola, FL for “A” school training as an Airframe Structure Mechanic. On completion of MOS schooling in Pensacola, he attended “C” school training or Advanced Composite Repair in Oceana, VA. After successful completion of “C” school, Lance Corporal Murray reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron (MALS)13 aboard MCAS Yuma in Sept of 2001. In February 2003, Corporal Murray attended Non-Destructive Inspection (NDI) School in Pensacola, Fl. Upon successful completion of NDI School, he returned to MALS-13 in preparation for deployment on the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) in January 2004. Upon return from the 31st MEU in July 2004, Sergeant Murray attended Radiation Safety Officer Course in Yorktown, VA in Oct 2004. He then deployed on the 13th MEU in July of 2005. Sergeant Murray returned from the 13th MEU in February 2006 and subsequently attended Aeronautical Welding School at NAS North Island in Coronado, CA. After successful completion of welding school, Sergeant Murray assumed the role of Structures SNCO and Work Center Supervisor. Sergeant Murray was meritoriously promoted to Staff Sergeant in April 2008. In July of 2009, Staff Sergeant Murray was selected for the Marine Enlisted Commissioning Education Program (MECEP) and attended the MECEP prep course in Quantico, VA. Staff Sergeant Murray subsequently reported to the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (NROTC) in San Diego, Ca in August 2009. He attended San Diego State University from Aug 2009 - Dec 2012 while completing Officer Candidate School (OCS) during the summer of 2010. Upon commissioning in December 2012, Second Lieutenant Murray completed The Basic School (TBS) as a member of Fox Company from Aug 2013 - Mar 2014 and subsequently attended Naval Aviation Flight Training in Pensacola, FL. Upon completion of flight school in May 2016, he was designated a Naval Aviator. First Lieutenant Murray reported to the MV-22B Fleet Replacement Squadron, VMMT-204, at MCAS New River in Jacksonville, NC in July 2015. In December 2016, he reported to VMM-162 where he was assigned to the Administration Department as the Assistant Administration Officer. Captain Murray deployed on the 26th MEU as a MV-22 Pilot and Assistant Administration Officer for VMM-162 (REIN) from February 2018 until August 2018. Captain Murray took over as the VMM-162 Administration Officer in August 2018 and served in that billet until August of 2019. He served as the Squadron Quality Assurance Officer from August of 2019 until October of 2020. Captain Murray attended the Aviation Safety Officer Course (ASO) in Pensacola, FL from October to November of 2020. After completion of the ASO Course, Captain Murray assumed the duties as the VMM-162 (REIN) Aviation Safety Officer for the duration of the 24th MEU from November 2020 to August 2021. Upon completion of the 24th MEU, Captain Murray assumed the role of the Director of Safety and Standardization while continuing his duties as the Aviation Safety Officer. Captain Murray completed a Permanent Change of Assignment from VMM-162 to VMM-261 in Sept of 2022. Upon checking into VMM-261, he assumed the role of the Director of Safety and Standardization. In November of 2022, Captain Murray was promoted to the rank of Major. Major Murray completed a Permanent Change of Assignment from VMM-261 to VMMT-204 in July of 2023. Upon checking into VMMT-204, he assumed the duties as an Instructor Pilot and the Aircraft Maintenance Officer. Major Murray currently serves as an Instructor Pilot and Executive Officer of VMMT-204.
