Master Gunnery Sergeant Steven C. Nash

Master Gunnery Sergeant Nash began his Marine Corps career on October 2004 at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California. After boot camp, Private First Class Nash reported to the School of Infantry West for Marine Combat Training (MCT) aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California. Upon completion of MCT, Private First Class Nash attended the Naval Aircrew Candidate School at Pensacola, Florida for initial Aircrew training followed by Introduction to Jet Turbine Engine Course where he was promoted to Lance Corporal. In August of 2005 Lance Corporal Nash received orders to report to the Center of Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina to begin training as a C-130 Flight Mechanic. Upon completion of CNATT ground training, he was transferred to VMGRT-253 aboard MCAS Cherry Point for Flight Mechanic flight phase training. He completed training in August of 2005 was designated as a KC-130F/R Flight Mechanic.

Lance Corporal Nash received orders to report to VMGR-152 aboard MCAS Futenma, in Okinawa Japan. At VMGR-152 he worked with the aviation maintenance department and flew as a Flight Mechanic in support of VMGR-152 squadron operations. On 1 December 2006 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal. Corporal Nash was selected for the KC-130J Crew Chief conversion course in July of 2007 as part of VMGR-152's transition to the KC-130J model aircraft. In October Corporal Nash became one of the first of 20 Crew Chiefs to qualify on the KC-130J aircraft at VMGR-152. On 1 February 2008 Corporal Nash was promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

September of 2008 Sergeant Nash received orders to report to VMGR-352 aboard MCAS Miramar. In February of 2009 Sergeant Nash completed his evaluation flight to become a Plane Captain on the KC-130J aircraft. January 2010 Sergeant Nash was deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Sergeant Nash returned to MCAS Miramar in August of 2009 and became a Crew Chief instructor on the KC-130J. January of 2011 Sergeant Nash was selected to attend Air Force Loadmaster training in Little Rock, Arkansas to become one of the first fleet wide KC-130J Crewmasters. January of 2012 Sergeant Nash received orders to report to CNATT Little Rock to complete Loading training. May of 2012 Sergeant Nash was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. June of 2012 Staff Sergeant Nash received orders to VMGR-352 and in September of 2012 passed his evaluation flight to become one the initial Crewmasters on the KC-130J.

April of 2013 Staff Sergeant Nash received orders to report the KC-130J Fleet Replacement Detachment (FRD) West aboard MCAS Miramar as a school house instructor. April of 2016 Staff Sergeant Nash received orders to report to MCAS Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii as a C-20G Crew Chief. In November of 2016, Staff Sergeant Nash was promoted to the rank Of Gunnery Sergeant. June of 2019 Gunnery Sergeant Nash received orders to report to Hill Air Force Base, Utah as the C-130 Navy/Marine Corps Depot Liaison. In June 2021 Gunnery Sergeant Nash was promoted to the rank of Master Sergeant. July 2021 Master Sergeant Nash received orders to VMGR-252 aboard MCAS Cherry Point. In November 2023 he was promoted to his current rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. Master Gunnery Sergeant Nash reported to the KC-130J Fleet Replacement Detachment in June 2024 to serve as the senior enlisted advisor. 

Master Gunnery Sergeant Nash personal decorations include 4 Air Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal with two gold stars, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with two gold stars.
