Command Biography

HMH-464 Executive Officer
Major Aaron T. Cauble

Major Aaron T. Cauble currently serves as the Executive Officer for Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464. He reported to his current assignment on 24 June 2024.

Aaron T. Cauble was born on February 14, 1988, in Winston Salem NC. He was raised primarily in Salisbury, North Carolina. Upon completing high school in 2006, he attended Catawba College, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Business Administration. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on 30 September 2011 and proceeded to The Basic School the following summer.

Following graduation from The Basic School in December 2012, he checked in to MATSG-21 at NAS Pensacola to begin Naval Aviator flight training. He attended Primary Flight School at VT-3 from April 2013 to February 2014 and promoted to 1stLt on 30 September 2013. 1stLt Cauble attended Advanced Flight School at HT-18 from April 2014 to November 2014 and was designated a Naval Aviator on 21 November 2014.

Once winged, 1stLt Cauble was transferred to the CH-53E Fleet Replacement Squadron, HMHT-302, aboard MCAS New River, NC for CH-53E flight training. He became NATOPS qualified in July of 2015 and shortly after was transferred to HMH-463 aboard MCB Kaneohe Bay, HI.

Upon check-in to HMH-463 1stLt Cauble took over the position of S-5 Officer and later was moved to the Operations department as a Schedule Writer. On 1 October 2016 1stLt Cauble was promoted to Captain. In November of 2016, Capt Cauble deployed and attached to VMM-262 (REIN) in Okinawa Japan as part of the 31st MEU where he continued to serve as a Schedule Writer. In May 2017, Captain Cauble returned to HMH-463 in Hawaii where he was assigned to the Maintenance department as the Airframes Officer.

In May 2018 Capt Cauble deployed again to VMM-262(REIN) in Okinawa as part of the 31 MEU. This time Capt Cauble acted as the Administration Officer. In November 2018 Capt Cauble returned to HMH-463 where he was assigned to the Operations department as the Current Operations Officer until his departure from the squadron in July 2019.

Capt Cauble checked into HMHT-302 in August of 2019 where he took over as the Logistics and Communications Officer for the squadron. In June of 2020 Captain Cauble took over as the Flight Line Division Officer. In June of 2021, Captain Cauble took over as the Director of Safety and Standardization for the squadron. On 1 October 2021 Captain Cauble promoted to Major.

From June 2022 to June 2024 Maj Cauble was assigned to 2d Marine Regiment as the Regimental Air Officer. During Maj Cauble’s tenure with 2d Marine Regiment he deployed to the Southwest Border in support of the Department of Homeland Security as the Regimental Future Operations Officer.
