Command Biography

MWCS-28 Executive Officer
Major Daniel O. Diaz

Maj Diaz is a native of Brownsville, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BS in Aerospace Engineering.

His operational assignments include Assistant Air Traffic Control Officer, MCAS Futenma; Detachment Commander, MACS-4; Detachment 18 OIC (MACG-18), VMM-265 (REIN), 31st MEU, participated in Theater Security Cooperation exercises in Australia and Korea and provided humanitarian relief to the Philippines in support of Operation Damayan following Typhoon Haiyan; Future Operations Planner, MACG-18.

His supporting establishment assignments include Logistics Officer (S-4), Marine Aviation Training Support Group 22 (MATSG-22), Training Command; Operations Research Analyst, DC, Combat Development and Integration (CD&I) Operations Analysis Directorate (OAD), Analysis Branch (AB), Current Operations & Analysis Support Team (COAST), and with the DC, Plans, Policies and Operations (PP&O) COVID 19 Marine Corps Crisis Action Team (MCCAT); Operations Research Analyst, DC, Manpower & Reserve Affairs (M&RA), Manpower Analysis Branch (MPA); Operations Research Analyst, DC CD&I, Capabilities Development Directorate (CDD), Logistics Combat Element (LCE), Expeditionary Energy Office (E2O).

His joint duties include an individual augment to MARCENT, CENTCOM (J8) Quick Reaction Branch Chief.

Major Diaz’s military education includes:  Air Traffic Control Officers Course, Military Airspace Management Course, Air Traffic Control Managers Course, Multi-TDL Adv Joint Interoperability Course, Marine Corps Expeditionary Warfare School (EWS and Command and Staff College (CSC) Distance Education Program, and MS in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS).

Major Diaz’s personal awards and decorations include:  Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
