Command Biography

MALS-31 Executive Officer
Major Jordan W. Tripp

From North Carolina, Major Tripp attended Western Carolina University and graduated with his B.S. in Criminology in 2012.

Following graduation from The Basic School and Aircraft Maintenance Officer Indoctrination, Lieutenant Tripp reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 13 at MCAS Yuma, AZ.  While assigned to MALS-13, Lieutenant Tripp acted as the Assitant Production Control Officer for a short period until reporting to VMA-211.

While assigned to the Wake Island Avengers, Lieutenant Tripp acted as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer and Material Control Officer.  During his tenure at VMA-211, Lieutenant Tripp executed two squadron deployments for training and completed the unit transition of VMA-211 from the AV-8B Harrier to the F-35B Lightning.  Upon squadron redesignation, he returned to MALS-13 to act as the Ground Support Equipment and the Quality Assurance OIC.

In June of 2017, he reported to the Deputy Commander, United States Forces Japan, Tokyo, Japan for duty as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commander where he would work for two different General Officers until summer 2019.  

In June 2019, Captain Tripp relocated to MCB Quantico, VA to report to Expeditionary Warfare School.  Post completion of resident PME, Captain Tripp reported to MALS-31 at MCAS Beaufort, SC.  His first year on station, Captain Tripp was the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer of MALS-31.  From 2021-2023, Captain Tripp worked as the Material Control Officer and Quality Asssurance Officer at VMFAT-501.  

From MCAS Beaufort, Major Tripp reported to Ft. Leavenworth, KS as a student for United States Army Command and General Staff College.  While assigned here, he earned his Masters degree in Military Operational Science. 

From US Army Command and Staff, Major Tripp was assigned to MALS-31 in Beaufort, SC to serve as the Operations Officer.  He assumed his current role of Executive Officer in June, 2025.
