Sergeant Major Machado is a native of New York. She reported to Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island for recruit training on 9 April 2007. Upon completion of recruit training in July of 2007, she was promoted to the rank of Private First Class and reported to Marine Combat Training at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Upon graduation from Marine Combat Training in August 2007 she reported to the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center in Dam Neck, Virginia to attend the Marine Corps Intelligence Specialist Entry Level Course.
In January 2008, after completion of the Marine Corps Intelligence Specialist Entry Level Course and subsequent meritorious promotion to the rank of Lance Corporal, Sergeant Major Machado reported to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where she checked into the Naval Station Guantanamo Bay. While there, she served as an Intelligence Analyst, interpreter, and liaison for the Naval Station and Marine Corps Security Force Company, Guantanamo Bay. After a one-year tour Sergeant Major Machado was then transferred to Marine Aircraft Group 11 in Miramar, California and was subsequently meritoriously promoted to the rank of Sergeant in May of 2009.
While stationed with the Marine Aircraft Group, Sergeant Major Machado was assigned to the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (All-Weather) - 225 to serve as the Intelligence Chief and Assistant Security Manager. Sergeant Major Machado was deployed through the Unit Deployment Program to Iwakuni, Japan with VMFA (AW)-225 from September 2009 to March 2010. Upon her return from deployment, Sergeant Major Machado returned to Dam Neck, Virginia to attend the MAGTF Intelligence Specialist Career Course.
Following completion of the three month long course, Sergeant Major Machado received orders to 1st Intelligence Battalion, Camp Pendleton, California. She served as an Intelligence Analyst and Pacific Command NCOIC with the Productions and Analysis Support Company before being assigned to the Analytic Tradecraft Group, Headquarters Company, 1st Intelligence Battalion. While with the Analytic Tradecraft Group, Sergeant Major Machado was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and served as the Chief Instructor and Curriculum Developer for the premier fleet intelligence analysis education platform from March 2012 to March 2014.
In April 2014, Sergeant Major Machado was transferred to the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, where she progressed through the instructor pipeline earning the designation of Basic, Senior, and, eventually, Master Faculty Advisor providing instruction for Career Course, Sergeants Course, and Corporals Course. She also served as a Curriculum Developer for the College of Enlisted Education during her time at the SNCO Academy. In July 2017, she was assigned to 2d Marine Division where she served as a Direct Support Team Intelligence Chief before attending the Intelligence and Tactics Instructor Course at the Marines Corps Tactical Operations Group and receiving the Intelligence Tactics Instructor, 0233 MOS, becoming the first enlisted female to earn the designation. After graduating, Sergeant Major Machado received orders to 1st Battalion, 2d Marines, where she served as the battalion Intelligence Chief. During this time, she deployed with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit and served as the Intelligence Chief for the Battalion Landing Team and the SNCOIC for the Female Engagement Team. Upon return from deployment, she received orders to Marine Corps Intelligence Schools at the Navy and Marine Corps Intelligence Training Center in Dam Neck, Virginia, where she served as the Senior Enlisted Advisor for Bravo Company, Marine Corps Detachment. Shortly after, she was selected to for the rank of First Sergeant and executed orders to Site Support, 6th Communication Battalion, Brooklyn, New York where she served as the First Sergeant for Communication Company and Headquarters and Service Company and provided oversight and guidance to over four Selected Marine Corps Reserve companies. In December 2025, Sergeant Major Machado was selected to her current rank and subsequently received orders to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Training Squadron 204, where she currently serves as their Command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Sergeant Major Machado is a graduate of Corporals Course, MAGTF Intelligence Analyst Career Course, Basic Instructor Course, Career Course, Curriculum Developer Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education I, Faculty Advisors Course, Advanced Course, Intelligence & tactical Instructor Course, Senior Enlisted Legal Course, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education II and First Sergeants Course. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Stony Brook University and a Masters in Management in Homeland Security from the University of Maryland University College.
Her personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2), Navy & Marine Corps Commendation Medal (2), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4).
