Major Drahos is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He enlisted in the Navy in December 2011 and following his training at the Aviation Boatswain's Mate, Launch and Recovery Equipment (ABE) schoolhouse, he joined the USS Harry S. Truman (CVN-75) in September 2012. Airman Drahos deployed with the USS Harry S. Truman from 2014 to 2015 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he was promoted to Petty Officer Second Class and became the Catapult #2 Work Center Supervisor.
ABE2 Drahos was selected to attend the United States Marine Corps Officer Candidate School and reported to Brown Field in January 2016. After completing OCS, he went directly to The Basic School and was chosen to attend the Air Intelligence Officer Course. 2nd Lieutenant Drahos joined Marine Wing Headquarters Squadron 2 (MWHS-2) in October 2017, serving as the 6th Special Security Communications Team Officer-in-Charge. He volunteered to support the Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Crisis Response Africa 19.1 rotation and was subsequently selected to serve as a liaison officer to AFRICOM and Special Operations Command - Africa.
Following his deployment, 1st Lieutenant Drahos was selected to lateral move into the unmanned aerial systems community and reported to Joint Base San Antonio - Randolph for MQ-9A training. After completing the Reaper Fundamentals Course, he went to Holloman Air Force Base for MQ-9A Reaper Initial Qualification Training. After completing this training, Captain Drahos reported to Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Squadron 1 (VMU-1) in July 2020. During his tenure at VMU-1, he held the positions of Ground Safety Officer, Current Operations Officer, and Aviation Safety Officer, while also completing MQ-9A core and mission stage training and becoming designated as an Unmanned Aircraft Commander. In July 2023, Captain Drahos reported to Marine Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Training Squadron 2, where he served as the Assistant Operations Officer, Aviation Safety Officer, and Fleet Replacement Squadron Instructor.
On August 4, 2025 Major Drahos assumed his role as Executive Officer of UASMS-1.
On June 16, 2026 Major Drahos assumed his role as Executive Officer of UASMS-14.
Major Drahos received his Bachelors in Athletic Training from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2011. He is the recipient of the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal (one Gold Star) and the Joint Service Achievement Medal.
