Lieutenant Colonel Jones assumed his duties as Commanding Officer of Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 26 on July 2, 2026.
Lieutenant Colonel Jones graduated from Auburn University in 2009 with a degree in Psychology and attended Officer Candidate’s School in Quantico, VA, where he received his commission in March 2010. He was subsequently assigned the MOS of an Aircraft Maintenance Officer (6002), and in March 2011, he executed orders to Marine Aircraft Group 24 at MCBH Kaneohe Bay, HI.
Afterwards, he was assigned to HMH-363, where he served as the Maintenance Material Control Officer and deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from August 2011 to February 2012. Following the de-commissioning of HMH-363, he reported to Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24 where he served as the AIRSpeed Department Head and the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Officer.
In July 2014, Lieutenant Colonel Jones was selected on the Commandant’s Career-level Education Board to attend Expeditionary Warfare School in Quantico, Virginia and graduated in May 2015.
In May 2015, Lieutenant Colonel Jones reported to OPNAV N953 at the Pentagon where he served as the C4I Requirements Officer and F-35B Flight Deck Modernization Lead. While there, he also served as the Resource Sponsor for the MCRRS system used to refurbish flight decks on amphibious ships.
In June 2017, he returned to Hawaii and reported to U.S. Marine Forces, Pacific where he served as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer and F-35B logistics lead. From August 2019 to June 2020, he completed his department head tour as the Operations Officer at Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24.
In June 2020, he was selected to be a Congressional Fellow and he reported to the HQMC Office of Legislative Affairs to serve as a Defense Fellow on the staff of Senator Richard Blumenthal. After his one-year fellowship, he was asked to remain on the Hill and serve as a Marine Corps Legislative Liaison Officer to the US Senate until December 2023.
In January 2024, he reported to the White House Military Office where he served as the Marine Corps Military Aide to the President.
LtCol Jones’ personal decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with 1 Strike/Flight, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal Gold Star In lieu of Second Award, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal Gold Star In lieu of Second Award.
