Navy Capt. Michael T. Hopkins, the senior medical officer of the USS Iwo Jima, explains the use of the ship’s medical ward to Kenneth Merten, Haiti ambassador, and Uruguay Navy Capt. Gonzalo Cunarro, Chief Maritime Operations Minustah, during their visit to the USS Iwo Jima, July 30. The ambassador and other distinguished visitors toured the multipurpose amphibious assault ship with Sailors and Marines during Operation Continuing Promise 2010, and learned about the mission of CP10.
