A pilot inspects his instruments prior to take off at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., March 11, 2016. Pilots hold a close relationship with the plane captains who guide them onto the flight line after a final inspection. A plane captain is responsible for conducting a final examination of the aircraft and guiding the pilots out to the runway. Plane captains possess extensive knowledge of their designated aircrafts and can determine if there are any last minute descrapensies that can potentially ground the aircraft.
