U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Ryan Gettinger, an AV-8B Harrier II jet pilot with Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 231, vertically lands an AV-8B Harrier II jet on the flight deck aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3), Dec. 4, 2022. VMA-231 trained with U.S. Sailors to strengthen interoperability and conduct carrier qualifications prior to their upcoming deployment with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit.
