U.S. Marines with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 365 (REIN), currently assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Special Operations Capable (SOC), land at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, following a seven-month deployment to the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa area of operations, Dec. 3, 2024. Embarked on the Navy’s Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), the Wasp ARG-24th MEU (SOC) supported U.S., Allied, and partner interests in the region, including the eastern Mediterranean Sea, to promote regional stability and deter aggression. Eric Andrekopoulos, a fixed-wing aircraft mechanic with Marine Attack Squadron (VMA) 223, takes flight in an AV-8B Harrier II jet from Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Jan. 25, 2024. After completing the prerequisite training, Andrekopoulos was afforded the opportunity to fly in an AV-8B Harrier II jet based on his superior performance and as an incentive for reenlisting for another four years of service in the Marine Corps.
