This identity design was created in adobe illustrator to represent the official unit insignia for 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, Feb. 12, 2025. The flying diamond insignia was first recognized during World War II as a shoulder patch. The patch was later mandated by the Commandant of the Marine Corps to represent all Marine Aircraft Wings.

HMM-764 fights insurgency, hurricane destruction

Like many Marines, the Moonlighters of Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 764 were troubled when they saw the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. As a reserve unit, HMM-764 had more Marines directly affected by the tragedy than most. One noncommissioned officer immediately noticed the change in one of his Marines, and decided to take action.
