Rowback’s love for running has given her the ability to use something she enjoys as a way to raise awareness. Her passion for physical fitness has shaped her career in the Marine Corps and has paved the way for her transition into the nursing field upon her exit from the Corps. Lance Cpl. Larry Moore presents the food he prepared to the judges of the Chef of the Year Competition at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Oct. 8, 2015. Four Marines competed for the Chef of the Year title after completing the Chef of the Quarter Competition throughout this past year. The competition put the young chefs out of their comfort zones and pushed them to their limits. Moore is a food service specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron. In accordance with the National Preparedness Month, Marines, Sailors and Department of Defense employees attended an emergency preparedness seminar hosted by Mission Assurance at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Sept., 29. The attending members were educated on mass notification procedures and emergency action planning resources that could assist them during hazardous weather conditions year round.
